ADHD & COGNITIVE TESTING

If you’ve had lifelong difficulties wrapping up the final details of projects, getting things in order, remembering appointments or other obligations, procrastination, and/or feeling overly active, you may be one of nearly 16 million adults in the United States believed to have Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). If you’ve had difficulties remembering recent events, misplacing objects more frequently, finding words or using them correctly, and/or feel increasingly confused, you could be developing a neurocognitive disorder. From ADHD to major neurocognitive disorder (“dementia”), we are equipped to diagnose and treat the problems overtaking your life.

With help from our expert clinicians and testing services, ADHD and cognitive impairment can be diagnosed and treated, transforming your life in the process. Southeast Virginia Psychiatry uses the Creyos (formerly Cambridge Brain Sciences) tasks to measure your cognitive function when diagnosing, treating and monitoring your health. In combination with an in-depth clinical interview, we use Creyos to aid in the diagnosis of ADHD, mild, and major neurocognitive disorders.

The Creyos cognitive assessments offered by our clinic were developed by world renowned neuroscientist Dr. Adrian Owen. Over 25 years of research have led to the creation of these assessments, which have been completed over 12 million times and validated by more than 300 peer-reviewed studies.
