DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSESSMENT
Our clinicians are trained to diagnose the full spectrum of mental health conditions, ranging from ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) to Bipolar I Disorder. Arriving at the right diagnosis is essential for the development of an appropriate treatment plan, and the failure to accurately diagnose can lead to decades of ineffective or even harmful treatment. For example, it takes an average of 10 years from their first contact with a clinician for someone to be accurately diagnosed with a Bipolar Disorder. In the meantime, these individuals are typically inappropriately exposed to medications that are in the best case unhelpful and in the worst case drivers of mixed mood features (e.g., anger, agitation, anxiety, attentional impairment), rapid mood cycling, and/or suicidal ideation.
Using a combination of modalities, which may include in-depth clinical interviewing, questionnaires, and computer-based neuropsychological testing, we can help you identify mental health conditions that are drivers of distress and functional impairment.
